An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends Raises $1.4 Million for CARES
The 14th annual An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends featuring special musical guest Cyndi Lauper was held on Saturday, November 2. The star-studded event, presented by Medical Mutual of Ohio, raised $1.4 million to support The Scott Hamilton CARES Initiative (Cancer Alliance for Research, Education and Survivorship) at Cleveland Clinic.
More than 6,000 people attended the ice show at Quicken Loans Arena which featured performances from more than a dozen Olympic, Canadian, U.S. and World Champion figure skaters. Scott Hamilton surprised the audience by performing with Dorothy Hamill and pair figure skating champions Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner during the show’s finale. The gala, held at the Renaissance Cleveland Hotel and chaired by Maria Miller, was attended by 700 guests.
Since its inception, An Evening with Scott Hamilton & Friends has raised more than $14 million to support the 4th Angel Mentoring Program, Chemocare.com and clinical research projects. Funds generated from this year’s event will be used to support ongoing research projects, including a genomic sequencing study of specific solid tumors with historically poor prognosis or limited treatment options.
Congratulations to all on another successful event!
